沈蝶兒Rosita Shum喜愛書畫，運用西方概念與顏色的融匯，和傳統筆墨的技巧，創作獨特的風格。 除追隨多位名師，更取得香港中大新水墨課程，和港大創意人體寫生課程文憑。

作品多以山石為題的新水墨創作，特顯澎湃之感，以硬邊、直線、 切割為主調, 創意抽象為主體，建立了個人風格，更深信水墨創作離不了傳統技巧和筆觸，書法運用也是創作的一環 。較軟性的創作，以牡丹花為例，用西畫格調，色彩，展示了她的高雅氣質。

從事慈善義務工作半生，服務智障人士和特殊學童 (自閉症、過度活躍症) 為主，少不了繪畫、書法的協同效應，Covid 19疫情之前，連續四年，於香港文化中心成功舉辦了第四屆特殊水墨畫展。

Welcoming Friends

Rosita has a great passion in visual arts and calligraphy, especially using ink as medium in her art creation. Besides she acquired a formal qualification of “New Ink Art” from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Creative Figure Painting from the Hong Kong University Space, also had the chance to follow a few famous masters.

She loves painting mountain and big rocks. With the basic characteristic of ink, giving a phenomenal shade of tones when making with water, applying to the powerful and sturdy appearance of big rocks and mountains expressing its firm and calm connotation, have strongly indicating its unbelievable confidence. Rosita also loves painting peony with ink combining with various colors to present its basic characteristic of beauty and elegance. 

Her “new ink” creation demonstrates a powerful concept reflecting her passion of painting big rocks with her sharp edges and straight lines making a strong icon of her own art style.

She believes traditional Chinese painting technique and brush strokes are also part of the main essence for art creation, calligraphy is a good choice. 

She has been devoting herself unconditionally in charity work for years, serving mainly the mentally handicapped group and children with hyperactivity disorder and autism in the under-privileged community. All these also greatly count on her passion and support of using of her art skill. Before the period of Covid19 in 2020, an annual “Special Art Exhibition” had been successfully held in Hong Kong Cultural Art Centre for four years.
